MPOB is the main organisation in the research and development of the palm oil industry in Malaysia. MPOB is open to public visitors and welcomes them to visit and learn about the industry, see the technologies used firsthand, and to learn about national palm oil management.
Seeing that Malaysia is the second largest palm oil producer in the world, MPOB provides a golden opportunity for visitors to learn about and better understand the production, process, research and development of the palm oil industry.
Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB) can be accessed from Kuala Lumpur through Lebuhraya Kuala Lumpur– Seremban (E2), using Exit B13 towards Jalan Ayer Itam (B13) west of the Bangi Industrial Centre. From there, MPOB is directly accessed from Persiaran Institusi Bangi.
MPOB focuses on palm oil research and development activities and is more attractive to researchers and special interest groups. The following are the main activities in MPOB:
- Resource and information repository (publishing and dissemination of information)
- Advisory and consultancy through factory visits and seminars
- Human resource development and training
Besides the R&D activities above, MPOB has a Palm Oil Gallery for public visits.
